Hall of Knights Visit

Almost 800 years ago the foundation for the Hall of Knights was laid. This building has a rich history. For centuries a court of justice resided in this majestic building. During the French period, Napoleon’s troops were quartered here and held their drills on the Inner Court. In more recent history the site became the centre for one of the most important days on the Dutch political calendar: ‘Prinsjesdag’ (Prince’s Day), when the King gives his annual speech in which he addresses both Chambers of Parliament and the Dutch people. The visit* is combined with a short film about the history of this Dutch political centre.

All standard guided tours are conducted in Dutch. Each Saturday an English-spoken tour is offered.

On the Dutch-spoken tours ProDemos can provide an audio guide (max. 6 people per tour) for our individual foreign guests in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Handouts are also available in Chinese, Japanese, Polish and Russian. We recommend that you make your reservations in advance.
